| DB grants week's time to petitioner to file response | | PIL regarding FIR against Judicial Magistrate | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 7 : In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by two young Advocates namely Rajnish Raina and Prem Sadotra against registration of FIR. No. 249/2013 against judicial officer of the State Judiciary by Police Station Sopore (Kashmir), Special Division Bench (DB) of State High Court granted week's time and directed Registry to list this PIL on March 20. The division bench comprising Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir and Justice Tashi Rabstan today after hearing Adv Rohit Kapoor with Adv Nadia Qadir for the PIL whereas Sr. AAG Gagan Basotra for the state observed that counsel for the PIL submitted that the affidavit has been filed by IGP is consistent and seeking week's time to file response and granted the same. According to the affidavit filed by the IGP Personnel PHQ J&K that he is fully conversant with the facts and circumstances and the directions/guidelines of the Apex Court in titled UP Judicial Officers Association Vs UOI has been circulated among all the subordinate formations for strict compliance in their respective jurisdiction vide Hqr office letter NO Legal/GB/52/J/2013/65108-75 dated December 31, 2013. |
