| BJP a communal party: Omar | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 7: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has termed BJP as a communal party. According to him only Cong and NC are the secular parties. Addressing party workers on today, Omar said the elections are clash of ideology and fight between communal and secular forces. The forthcoming Parliamentary elections are straight out contest between BJP and Congress, where the latter is on sliding path and BJP is likely to double up its seats, as per the different poll analysis. Omar has positioned himself as secular and by alleging that PDP is in cohort with BJP, he has also apparently termed it as divisive and communal party. Omar is deliberately building communal attack for the reason to be in good books of the Congress. He is doing so with a definite game plan with an aim to remain in the chair. Omar has now realized that Congress is a force in the Jammu region and has made inroads in the Kashmir division also. He has also realized that BJP is unlikely to make much dent in Assembly elections though it may show up good result in the Parliamentary elections. Omar and his coterie has devised a plan that by continuously bashing BJP the party will be in the good books of the Cong high command and after Assembly elections he can claim to the chair again and even force the party high command to have alliance with again. It's because of this reason that Omar is deliberately putting PDP with the BJP so that Cong high command doesn't think of any kind of alliance with the PDP. "Omar is playing a cunning politics till now, but everything can change dramatically if there is change in the Centre with Modi in the PM chair," said a senior Cong leader from the Delhi. Omar who had consistently accused BJP of being a communal party had shared power with it in the Centre when NDA was in Government and there is every possibility that he switch sides also. |
