ECI's electoral photo exhibition inaugurated

Jammu, Mar 8: Election Commission of India has launched a series of Photo Exhibitions for electoral literacy in Reasi district as a part of country wide exhibitions at 500 locations.
Photographs from venues of SVEEP Campaign Jashn-e-Jamhuriat from across the district along with electoral literacy material of ECI, locally developed electoral literacy material in vernacular languages, photographs of district icons, achievements of electoral awareness, cartoons and caricatures were displayed in the exhibition which was inaugurated by District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Reasi. It was first in series of 12 photo exhibitions being organised in the district in next 35 days.
Addl Deputy Commissioner Rajinder Singh Tara, ACR Tilak Raj Sharma, ACD Joginder Singh Rai, PO DRDA Jagdish Mehra, DO Parvinder Kour and officers of various departments and representatives of political parties were present on the occasion besides BLOs of concerned polling stations.
A live Polling Booth was also established in the exhibition to demonstrate Electronic Voting Machine and voter list of 6 polling stations of Reasi town was also displayed. A documentary on electoral literacy was presented By Nodal Officer Dr Jagdish Mehra, District Information Officer and Member MCMC Devinder Thakur. The documentary presented the aims and objectives behind electoral awareness and the targets achieved during the campaign through more than 80 types of activities.
Electoral literacy material was displayed in English, Hindi, Urdu and Local languages. A series of cartoons and caricatures was also displayed. Special informative material designed for informed and ethical voting constituted a special section of the exhibition and attracted the visitors. A cultural programme and youth show was presented by Natak Mandali for awareness of visitors.
The registration counter set up along with exhibition was also facilitated a large number of youth and existing voters.
The DC appreciated the efforts of entire team for displaying the electoral best practices, informing voters about electoral process and ethical voting besides reflecting the events organised in last more than six months of the SVEEP campaign in the district. Such photo exhibitions are being organised on large scale at SMVD University Kakryal ; Katra town, Pouni, Ransoo, Arnas and Mahore in March and April.
