| Only one journalist in last year's directory! | | Police fail to publish telphone directory, Calendar for 2014 | |

JAMMU, Mar 8: While the police directory 2013 had just one journalist in it, the department has failed to issue this year's directory. Even the calendar has not been published till date.
There are more than 400 newspapers small and big, dailies and weekly published in the state and an equal number of journalists both accredited as well as non accredited performing their professional duties. The irony is that the Police Department is ignorant, ill informed or feigns ignorance.
The police which have a day to day work with media persons one way or other remains ignorant about the total number of journalists and other people working in media houses. There is CID wing of police department which has information and record of all the people of Jammu and Kashmir and it puts a question mark on their efficiency.
No doubt this directory is for private circulation but department must have correct information. They can even approach Department of Information for the list of accredited and non accredited journalists. Now it is the middle of March and the new police directory as well as the police calendar is yet to be published. Almost every new calendar comes out in the first month of the year but so far police deptt didn't published or print both calendar as we'll as directory reasons best known to them. The department that remains always in front has lagged behind on this important front. |
