| Police recovers 100 bottles of banned drug, peddler arrested | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Mar 8: In a major success against the drug peddlers and drug abuse Rajouri police today booked a drug peddler and recovered 100 bottles of banned Corex Syrup from his possession. Sources said that after an information provided by the reliable police source a police party under the supervision of Mubassar Latif district SP and lead by DSP operations and SHO, intercepted a bus coming from Jammu at a bridge near Muradpur. During the frisking of the bus, Yash Pal Sharma, SHO recovered 100 bottles of banned drug from a bag belong to one Liakat Hussin son of Mohd Aslam resident of Bhella colony (Rajouri). Liakat was immediately taken into custody and was taken to police station where he admitted that the consignment belongs to him and he has brought it from Jammu. The accused was booked under section 8/21/22 NDPS act under FIR No 108/14 and was put to sustain questioning for the identification of the source of banned drug and the persons involved in the network. Pertinent to mention that 100mlt banned drug with a cost of about Rs30 is being sold to the drug addicts for Rs130-150 by the drug suppliers/peddlers. For the last many months the parents , senior citizens , social activists have been complaining that young generations has been becoming prey to drug peddlers and have demanded stern action against those involved in this network. |
