Jammu, Mar 8 : An awareness programme was organized by Shiv Kumar Sharma, SP Railways Jammu at GRP Lines Jammu, in which P.K. Mengi Dy. SP GRP Lines Jammu, Chanderjeet Singh, SDPO Railways Jammu, B.K. Dutta Dy. Comndt BSF, Inspr, Surinder Paul Sharma-SHO P/S GRP Jammu, Inspr. Anita Chopra, Inspr. Bhopinder Singh and all the women officers/officials and jawans of GRP Jammu were present. The programme was the observance of International Women Day. The participants were made aware with regard to crime against women and subsequent preventive measures for the safety and security of women.
The officers of GRP Jammu present were instructed to make a better communication and information system effective for the help of women passengers and they were directed to display the Help line No. 9796001000, PCR GRP Land line No 01912474946 and RPF SHO's No 9797532790 and SHO PS GRP Jammu 9419152873 at the Railway Station, and at various locations of the jurisdiction.
The jawans were instructed to deal politely and with good behaviour with the women tourists and passengers. Stern action be taken against the eve teasers and be put behind the bars besides lodging FIR under relevant sections of law. The participants were inculcated to make the atmosphere of Railways conducive and were educated about the respectable behavior and dealing with women whether at home, at work place, in neighborhood or outside. |
