| Hajj panel warns repeaters to withdraw by April 5 or face action | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Mar 31: Jammu and Kashmir State Hajj Committee has warned of legal action against all those people who use to apply again and again for undertaking the Hajj pilgrimage, concealing the information about their earlier Hajj. Committee Executive Officer Mushtaq Ahmad Lone said application forms received from intending pilgrims are being scrutinised and registered online. The cover number will be issued in due course of time, he said. However, Mr Lone said many complaints have been received that some persons who have already performed Hajj in the past have now again applied this year, concealing the fact of being repeaters. The scrutiny being a multilayer exercise, such repeater pilgrims will get identified at one stage or the other. He said on their identification their applications shall be rejected and payment made till that time shall be fortified in full and they shall further be liable to legal action. However, the Hajj committee has announced last chance for these repeaters to voluntarily withdraw their application by or before April 5. Mr Lone said similarly it is being found that many pilgrims applying under reserve category (70 years above) have applied with companions indicating a relation which in some cases is factually not correct. These pilgrims have also been directed to withdraw their application or face forfeited of payments made in full besides legal action. |
