| Will NC groom the youth leadership? | | | Early Times Report KALAKOTE, Mar 31: Terming Modi wave a mere hoax, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said India wanted youth leadership to come forward to strengthen secularism in the country. He was addressing election rally at Nowshera. The youth are always ready, Omar must know to play their part to take the country to new heights but traditional politicians believe in Family Rule. The youth and ordinary civilians are not welcome in the political parties. An example of this came to fore today when a NC leader from Ganderbal severed relations with the party for which he worked for four decades. Giving reasons for quitting the party, he said the organisation he loved is run by the Sheikh Family where favourites are groomed and promoted. Omar also praised the UPA government for helping the state out of way. Up to last month Omar and his father were exploring the idea of reviving old ties with the NDA when Congress showed reluctance to have a poll alliance with the NC. Omar's uncle and the NC additional general Secretary still criticises Congress and holds it responsible for the mess the state finds itself in at present. |
