"Law & Order machinery failure led to Dalit's departure of faith from present Government"

JAMMU, Mar 31: While the Bahujan Samaj Party is considered to be the caretaker political organization of the dalits and downtrodden, its party supreme Mayawati addressing the Jammuites tomorrow may allegedly take up the much publicised encounter which took place near Satyam Resorts in which one dalit Rakesh Kumar alias Giri was killed and Yudhvir alias Babloo was injured.
While the case still remains pending for the final disposition, many insinuations about the whole episode had made rounds about the encounter which hit the headlines in Dec 2010.
As the Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati takes centre stage at Jammu's Parade Grounds for the public address, expectations go high among the people, particularly the dalit segment to expect a statement coming from her on the issue.
When reminded about the dailt getting killed in a much famous Satyam Resort Murder case, Tulsi Dass Langeh, state president BSP said that there are many such other issues that are linked with the dalit class of the society in Jammu and Kashmir which are not addressed due to the complete ignorance and failure of the present dispensation on all accounts .
He said though the party president would be focusing mainly on the issues of national importance, but state issues would also be of the supreme importance which she would be deliberating in her public address.
"Even in the murder case of Kattal Battal where a dalit was killed and the absconders are at large, the state law and order machinery seems to be totally collapsed which has led to the departure of dalits' faith from the present government. They are looking towards a candidate of their own category who can espouse the cause of the backward people for which BSP has fielded its candidates," said Tulsi Dass Langeh adding that people hope that Mayawati would raise the case of Dalit killings in Jammu.
While there is major voter count of the segment in both the Jammu constituencies, BSP supremo Mayawati's arrival and public address is being watched with great concern by the other contesting parties, particularly the Bhartiya Janta Party as well as Congress as to what the mass leader of UP would be raising the issues for its particular class that may dent the political scenario of Jammu province .
Langeh said that coming of Mayawati in Jammu and addressing the people is of great significance for the SC and other backward classes as her aura in UP and other states have already shown its stature as a towering personality and a messiah of dalits and downtrodden.
Meanwhile, a senior party leader in Bharitya Janta Party has dismissed the claim over Mayawati making any dent to their party's stature saying that all issues from refugees to Dalits have been properly taken care of by BJP that leaves no scope for any threat.
Same perception is taken by the Congress also.
However, all attentions are focused ion tomorrow's BSP rally.
