| Enemies to Singh become active to settle old score with him | | Differences between Cong leadership, Lal Singh widening with every passing day | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 31: Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is Congress candidate for Udhampur-Doda-Kathua Lok Sabha seat, has started aggressive campaign in Reasi and Ramban districts but the party has failed to pacify Chowdhary Lal Singh, the sitting Lok Sabha member from this segment, who has been denied mandate due to unknown reason. Congress leadership is very much aware that support of Chowdhary Lal Singh is must to ensure smooth sailing for Ghulam Nabi Azad but party has completely isolated and this action of the party leadership is going to have effect on the elections. Credible sources said that Ghulam Nabi Azad is himself not happy over the way Lal Singh had taken adamant stand when party high command had decided to field him (Azad) on Udhampur-Doda-Kathua Lok Sabha segment. Chowdhary Lal Singh has virtually become inactive but Azad is not ready to approach him because he was upset over the way Lal Singh had behaved. Insiders in the Congress said that party had earlier decided to adjust Chowdhary Lal Singh after the Parliament elections but his adamant attitude has infuriated party leadership. "A senior Congress leader has approached Lal Singh a couple of days back and suggested him to start work for Azad but he refused to join campaign", credible sources said and disclosed that Chowdhary Lal Singh has already given message to his supporters to become silent or avoid any communication with Congress leaders. Detractors of Chowdhary Lal Singh, especially those in Kathua district, are all out to avail this opportunity. As differences between Congress leadership and Lal Singh are widening with every passing day, later's enemies have become active in Kathua district. Former Minister and Lal Singh's political enemy Babu Singh has become active in Kathua Assembly segment to settle score with Lal Singh. |
