Jammu, Mar 31: Members of Brahmin community today organized a meeting wherein they opposed the recent move of providing reservation in private sector. The Brahmins from Marh block had gathered at Gajansoo under the banner of Brahmins United Federation over a scheduled Sammelan to discuss issues concerning the community. Inderjeet Khajuria, President BUF in his address echoed the sentiments of the community over the issue and declared that the slogan of reservation on economic basis by some parties is nothing but an eye wash to befool the masses. BUF appealed to the Brahmin Community not to vote for such candidates who support reservations in private sector also. The Sammelan passed a resolution to this effect and also resolved to unite the Brahmin community at a single platform so that such repulsive moves could be repelled. The participants included Mangoo Ram Sharma, President DBPS Akhnoor and his office bearers, Dr. Ramakant Khajuria of Udhampur. Sarpanches , Panches and eminent Brahmins from Marh Block were honoured during the programme. Speakers included Bhushan Sharma Sarpanch, Ramehwar Sharma Ex-Sarpanch Gangoochak, Bishan Sharma Sarpanch Flora, Master Surinder Sharma Gajansoo, Rakesh Sharma among others. |
