| Malpractices at SFC's Bhaderwah division | | | Early Times Report
Bhaderwah, Apr 29: Believe it or not but it is a better truth that some politically power full contractors doing various works in State Forest Corporation division Bhaderwah are flouting all the norms to winds behind the nose of the senior officers of the department.
Instead of adhering to the allotment guidelines for the works in SFC compartment 16 in which SFC had allotted work to a contractor to collect sleepers from the area and for which according to tenders SFC will also pay payment to contractor for using Keran Machine, head carriage and other services but according to reliable sources contractor is doing free floating of the material in the same compartment.
Sources alleged that said contractor is using a local river for the collection of sleepers and have dumped in it and if rain arrived once again in Bhaderwah then all sleepers can wash away and huge loss occurred to national exchequer. According to tenders SFC will pay payments for using machines and head carriage to contractor for lifting material from compartment but sources claimed that contractor is directly throwing all material / sleepers to a river and is throwing allotment work directions to winds for his personnel monetary benefits as said contractor had already got rate of the using of machines and head carriage.According to SFC rules if any contractor is not doing work as per agreement then contractor should be given the rate of free floating but in this case higher ups in the SFC are mum in spite of many complaints from some corners and still not imposed any fine or inquiry. Not only this last year State Forest Corporation allegedly allotted works to many contractors but still that works are incomplete but SFC this year too started allotting new works to failure contractors which clearly exposed the work culture and good governance in the Corporation. Sources within department also disclosed that SFC higher authorities distributed incentives to those contractors who never complete allotted works on time period and there is no merit in it which should be inquired as this will demoralised the morale of sincere and dedicated contractors and need of the hour is to inquire all bunglings and favouritism in the department and Forest Minister Main Altaf should himself investigate the allegations against SFC especially related to Bhadewah Division to save state as well as national exchequer. |
