Early Times Report Rajouri (Keri Sector), Apr 28 : Pakistani troops today resorted to heavy firing along 507 Forward Defense Line (FDL) and violated ceasefire for the second time in four days. Firing started in between 6:15 to 7:20 in Keri Sector in Nowshehra in Rajouri district between 7 Sikh regiment posted at LoC Keri Sector and 649 Regiment of Pakistan. Army troops guarding the borderline retaliated and the exchanges between the two sides were going till last reports came in. Army troops guarding the borderline fired back resulting in intermittent exchanges of fire, said a defense spokesperson, adding, "firing exchanges are still going on". According to reliable sources, the firing along the LoC was to make the intrusion bid successful with about 20-25 militants waiting at different location including Nowshehra, Rajouri, Balakote, Mendhar, Krishna Ghati, Gulpure and Mandi sector to disturb army with firing to enter this side of the border. This is the second ceasefire violation in the past four days along LoC in JK. On April 25, Pakistani troops violated ceasefire by firing with small arms and mortars on Indian posts in Doda battalion areas along LoC in Poonch district. |
