| Lone accuses NC, PDP of distancing JK people from rest of India | | | Early Times Report KUPWARA, May 4: In a significant development in State's politics, J&K Peoples Conference today accused both National Conference which is heading a coalition Government in the State and Opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for distancing the J&K with rest of India for its vested political interests for last over six decades. The allegation was leveled none other than the supremo of JKPC Sajjad Gani Lone while addressing mammoth election rally in support of Party candidate from Baramulla -Kupwara Lok Sabha Constituency Salam-ud-Din Bijad at Batgund in Langate Assembly segment in North Kashmir district Kupwara district today. Lone said that NC and PDP for their vested political interests have been befooling the people of the State as well as created a wedge between J&K and rest of India which in turn led to present turmoil in the State and sufferings of millions of the people in the State. He said the leaders of the two parties can't absolve themselves of the same and were fully responsible for the plight of the people of the State. These two parties exploited the masses over the years and also presented a wrong picture before the people of the rest of India which created a barrier between the people of the State and rest of India, he added. He appealed the people to join hands and teach both the parties a lesson in May 7 elections by ensuring success of PC candidate. He said PC is working for a total change in the State by taking the power to the grass route level and empower the masses. This is the real democracy and J&K has to go a long way in this regard, he added. He said the successive governments in the State failed to work in taking power to door steps of people and make the public representatives to behave as public servants and not as the masters a precedence said due to the misgovernence of the successive State governments. Till date no public representative has been made accountable for his omissions and commissions and PC will make them fully answerable to the people. Lone said that it has become a precedence in the State that people visiting the residences of legislators and ministers seeking help in settling their day to day problems and ministers and legislators often write Dos etc to concerned departments which are never honoured and people have to make rounds in offices for months together but to no avail. This system will be totally changed and PC will ensue that no one irrespective of his party politics is deprived of justice as the Party will work on the agenda justice to all and appeasement to none. Lone said a lady visited to a Minister seeking job for her unemployed son and the Minister asked her which Party he voted for and the lady replied that she voted for PDP and the Minister said go for a job to PDP. Lone said people are fed up with these parties and they want to get rid of atrocities and PC has provided them a good opportunity in this regard. He said the days are gone when NC was saying that fishes from Dal and Wullar lakes will come to vote for the Party and befooling the people. But now people have seen through its game plan which is nothing except continuing dynastic rule in the State. Addressing the rally PC senior leader and veteran trade unionist Mir Ghulam Rasool Butwani lambasted he NC and Congress for calling BJP a communal organisation for its vested interests. He said it was former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee who went Pakistan with a message of peace and worked untiringly for improving bilateral relations with Pakistan. The sincerity shown by the BJP Government at Delhi in settling the Kashmir issue was praise worthy as Congress during its over 50 years of rule never took a sincere step in improving relations with Pak and also addressing the basic Kashmir issue. The rally was presided by district Kupwara president of PC Bashir Ahmed Darand it was also addressed by the vice chairman of the party Mohammed Kamal Malik. |
