| Pvt schools charging fees at own whims, CEO to reign in | | | Ajay Sharma
Rajouri, May 4 : The private schools in district Rajouri have created havoc among the parents of the wards who have put their children in these schools and shelling out astronomical money in wake of fees and allied demands of the schools. Though a circular in this regard was floated by the CEO Rajouri a couple of months back warning the schools to stick to the guidelines and norms of the education format, yet the private schools running their affairs on their own whims and fancies have thrown all norms and charging whopping rates and providing the negligible infrastructure and facilities to the school children. A couple of parents who approached this reporter lamented that education department is putting up a nonchalant approach to the most pressing demand that concerns the carrier of the students and in the process have left the private institutions go scot free to act on their own fancies. " We have approached the concerned zonal education officer also with a request to look into the reasons that are hurting the ethics of the students who are made to sit in the open skies and use way sides for toilet and bathroom purposes which are most derogatory of a private school that charges astronomical amounts as fees, "said one of the aggrieved parents requesting anonymity fearing a backlash for their ward by the school authorities if anything of the sort us reported to higher authorities or the media. It is pertinent to mention here that since such pvt institutions have floated a message across to their students not to disclose the sanitary and other situations of the institution to the concerned authorities or the media, lest they would be treated with most offensive measures, either to fail them in their exams or forced to leave the school. This has brought a great fear among the parents of the schools who do not come forward with a complaint on any quarter. However this correspondent was assured by the CEO Rajouri when he approached his office on the system prevalent in the private schools. "I have come across this complaint many times. I have initiated enquiry earlier also. But now I have made some teams across and I have ordered them to make a relevant check of the procedure and report to me. I am confident that sooner this problem would be fixed ," said Chief Education Officer, Mohammad Lal Hussain while talking to Early times. |
