Kathua, May 14: A famous Hindu religious and holy place which is also known as mini Haridwar i.e. Airwan temple situated in Andhar area of Kathua once again is in media lime light following alleged a tug-of war over the management affairs of temple as locals alleged meddling by some influential officials.
According to a press statement issued today by some locals of Airwan Panchayat, the supervision of the historic temple was taken by the administration through concerned Tehsildhar to resolve the issue of managing affairs of ancient Airwan Temple Committee.
"The removal of Secretary of the temple committee Karur Singh and alleged encroachment of the temple property have been condemned by the residents of the said panchyat-Airwan. And to register their resentment senior residents of area namely Janak Bharti, Sandeep, Ashok Singh, R S Blowari, Krishan Chand Sapollia, Ramesh Chander and Mulkh Raj while talking to media persons alleged that the District administration and some inimical elements have a nexus to plunder the temple's property including the huge spread of the land attached to temple.
They urged the state government that the holy place should be brought under the control of Shrine board and Tourism Department so that the importance of the area could be preserved by taking a massive deserving development. Meanwhile Secretary of Temple Committee Karur Singh accused the Tehsildhar for doing the non developmental activities due to which the Airwan temple is getting deteriorated. "Tehsildhar hatched a conspiracy against the committee and dissolved the committee, Singh added.
