| What happened to fuel scam in LC? | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 14: Legislative Council had constituted a House Committee to probe much talked JAKFED scam but nothing has been done so far to investigate fuel scandal in the Legislative Council which took place during the tenure of former acting Chairman Arminder Singh Micky. Credible sources said that fuel scandal came to surface during the tenure of Micky but those who are at the helm of the affairs have not taken any step to probe that scam which had cost huge loss to the state exchequer. "During the tenure of Micky, who remained acting chairman of the Legislative Council, a scam was exposed in which it was established that money was charged by showing excessive use of fuel", sources said and added that after his retirement as member of the Legislative Council no further action was taken to investigate the scam. Credible sources said that it was all due to the pressure of some senior leaders that this scam was not further investigated and everything remained hide under the carpet. Arminder Singh Micky was elected as chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) headed by Union Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah. Ironically Micky was earlier heading a team which was constituted to probe multi-crore scam in JKCA in which finger of suspicious was directly pointed towards Dr Farooq Abdullah himself. Election of Micky as chairman of the JKCA is the clear indication that fate of multi-crore JKCA scam would be like fuel scam of Legislative Council. |
