JAMMU, May 14: In a brazen example of utter lack of accountability and transparency, as many as 663 candidates have not been called by the Service Selection Board (SSB) authorities for interview, which is scheduled from May 19, 2014, despite qualifying the mandatory written test for various district cadre posts for Rajouri district.
According to recent notification of SSRB regarding interviews for various posts, 2613 candidates have been summoned for interview out of 3276 shortlisted candidates. " Total 3276 candidates were selected for various posts including 128 candidates against item number 397, 2160 candidates for item number 494 and 988 candidates were shortlisted for item number 555", order number SSB/Secy/Sel/2014/743-54 of dated January 1, 2014 read.
The notification further read, "It is notified for the information of all concerned, that out of the candidates who appeared in the objective type written test for the posts of Teacher, pertaining to various Districts, where basic qualification is 10+2 and was held on 17.09.2013, the candidates shown below, have qualified the written test and have been short listed for interview/viva voce, as per Rule 28 of the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (Business and Procedure) Regulation, 2013, adding further that after conclusion of the above said written test, discrepancies in two questions were noticed and the same were referred to the subject experts.
"On receipt of the expert opinion, the discrepancies were disposed off in accordance with rule XV (17) of J&K SSB Conduct of Examination Rules, 2013. The list notified is provisional. The candidature of the candidates mentioned in the list is provisional and shall be subject to scrutiny of original certificates / documents at any time / at the time of interview. The list notified is provisional. The result is roll number-wise and does in no manner reflect the order of merit of the candidates. The date for viva-voce will be notified separately", the SSB had mentioned in its notification at the time results were declared.
Paradoxically, without any prior information/ notification the board has shortlisted 663 more candidates out of 3276 selected candidates in Rajouri district.
In notification of dated May 10, 2014 the board has mentioned that the interview of the shortlisted candidates having qualified the objective type written test conducted for the Teacher, (Education Department), District Cadre Rajouri, advertised vide Notification No 03 of 2012, 05 of 2013 and 06 of 2013, Item No's 397, 494 and 555, respectively shall be conducted w.e.f May 19, 2014 onwards at Dak Bangalow Rajouri from 08.30 A.M Onwards.
The deprived candidates have termed the system adopted by board totally ambiguous as SSB deprived 20 percent of qualified candidates the opportunity without assigning any reasons. "This is the apathy of SSB in just one district where 633 qualified candidates have been deprived from the right to appear in interview", said a deprived candidate, wishing anonymity. |
