| NSF criticizes Lone for want of infrastructure, other facilities in newly created Degree Colleges | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 14: National Secular Forum (NSF) today questioned the motive of opening new degree colleges across the state sans basic facilities including infrastructure and criticized Higher Education Minister for his failure to maintain vigil over the same. Addressing media persons, NSF president Sukhdev Singh said that government had opened several new degree colleges in various rural areas of state with much fanfare but actually it was only a conspiracy of state government to strengthen their vote bank. "If state government is really serious about the rural youth, then why same has failed to fill faculty posts in colleges", he said. Sukhdev Singh further said that it was very surprising to notice that total adhocism prevailing in Higher Education department as after lapse of more than one year the government has not been able to fill up over 1700 vacant posts of Assistant Professors in degree colleges across the state, as the file pertaining to advertisement of posts of Assistant Professors has been shuttling from one department to other. NSF president Sukhdev Singh demanded immediate intervention of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for creation of infrastructure in newly created colleges and also to fill the vacant posts of Assistant Professors. |
