JAMMU, May 14: On the persistent demand of the Consumer Welfare Association (CWA) District Development Commissioner (DDC), Jammu has constituted special flying squads comprising of officers of DDC, representatives of different government agencies and consumer organizations. According to a press statement, the special flying squads were constituted vide Government Order No. DCJ/Misc./14-15/365-409, Dated 12.05.2014 for effective monitoring and to exercise regular control over the prices, quality, quantity and to check hoarding of essential commodities. DDC has constituted eight such flying squads including one each for Jammu North, Jammu south, Tehsils of Akhnoor, R S Pura and Bishnah viz a viz Blocks of Marh, Bhalwal, and Dansal. The special squads for Jammu North and Jammu South include representatives from CAPD, JMC, SHO concerned police station, Legal Metrology, Drug Controller and DDC office. The consumer organization will be represented by Vikram Gour, President CWA and Chander Parkash Sharma Secretary, CWA. The Assistant Commissioner (General) will be overall in charge of the flying squads. Assistant Commissioner (G) will compile and put up weekly report to the Deputy Commissioner, Jammu for approval. |
