| AAP condemns JDA's action at Gole Gujral | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, May 14: Expressing its deep concern over the use of brutal force by Jammu Development Authority (JDA) against Gujjar population at Gole Gujral Jammu, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday said that such actions cannot be tolerated and should be condemned by every civilized society. In a statement issued here, AAP leader Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat said that if the Government or JDA is really concerned about the illegal encroachments in Jammu then it must first evict the illegal immigrants who have encroached several hundred acres of land in various parts of the city. The action taken by JDA is totally unacceptable and this is a clear violation of basic human rights of these poor people. Dr Muzaffar expressed his solidarity with the evicted poor families and demanded that they should be rehabilitated by the Government. "When Government is seeking votes from these poor people of Gole Gujral, then why can't they be rehabilitated as well? Muzaffar questioned the Government. He said that illegal hotels, business centers and bungalows have been erected by the land mafia in Srinagar and Jammu cities but they remain untouched and only poor and downtrodden people are the target of this cruel government.
