Jammu, May 14: A title 'The Lost Sonnet', published from New Delhi and authored by international fame Geetika Kohli who hails from Jammu, has made its debut in Jammu and Kashmir. According to statement, the collection of fifty poems spanning diverse issues, includes poetry in the sonnet poems (popular Shakespear's poetry), bank verse, rhymes, free verse and is seemed an experimental poetry. The writer has experimented with both contemporary as well as classic poems of English poetry, the statement said adding, "Ms Kohli's earlier poems found place in an international anthology called 'Blossoms of India'-2010. The statement said the book is a mine of spiritual metaphors that the poetess found in the nightmarish ghettoes of existence. "This is a most intimate confession of her mental sojourns and her discoveries therein. The drama in her voice can be heard when one reads these poignant pieces aloud. The sound of poetry can be tasted as something even beyond 'meaning' surfaces the pages of this book, it said and added, "a toast to variety, the compilation is an answer to why poetry should not be compartmentalized." Pertinently, Geetika began writing at a tender age and found expression in four languages- English, Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi and has has numerous poems, stories, articles and essays to her credit. |
