Woman killed by black bear in Bhaderwah

Kishtwar, May 14: A woman was today killed by a black bear inside Compartment 27 of Cheralla range of Bhadarwah Forest Division while she was collecting Morchelas (Guchi). The area falls under the jurisdiction of Police Post Bhalla.
As per sources, the woman was accompanied by five to six other woman's and had gone to the nearby forest area to collect forest produce Marcella psceulpum (Guchi) where she was attacked by a black Bear. The woman died in the attack of the black bear. The deceased lady was identified as Parvati Devi, wife of Balwant Raj resident of Ghurakha Bhadarwah while other women accompanied managed to escape from the spot and informed villagers who with the help of police recovered the dead body of the deceased women. After conducting all medico-legal formalities, Police handed over the body of deceased to his relatives for last rites.
