Bandipora, June 4: Even after the expiry of half session, majority of the government schools in education zone Koil Muqam Bandipora have not been provided books as a result the students are suffering and they are unable to take lessons from their teachers. Under norms, it is the job of the Board of School Education to provide books to the students studying in government schools. BOSE usually supply books free of cost to Zonal Educational Officers who in turn supply them to the schools soon before the commencement of the new session. Ironically, in most of the government schools in education zone Koil Muqam, children are without books. "It is June and my children who are studying in class fourth at Government School Malangam are without books. They attend the school without books and I am surprised what they will learn there," Javid Ahmed a local said. Reports said that at least 1,000 students are without books. Secretary to Board of School Education, Renuka Goswami told that the Board has supplied books to all ZEO's as per requisition. "It is strange that students are without books. I will check records and find out why books have not been provided to children," she said. |
