Udhampur, June 4: Continuing its drive against illegal transportation of bovine animals, the Udhampur police today arrested six bovine smugglers and seized three vehicles used for smuggling of bovine animals here today. The accused have been arrested namely Nassar Ahmed s/o Gh Nabi of Ramban, Din Mohd s/o Dilawar of Ramban, Nazir Ahmed s/o Maza of Digdog Ramban, Kala s/o Shatu of Kanga Ramban, Muneer s/o Gh Mohd of Tarnote Ramban and Mohd Shafi s/o Miran Baksh of Maitra Ramban. "Police today rescued 45 bovine animals and arrested six bovine smugglers during a surprise naka falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Udhampur," police sources said. "Based on reliably information, a Police party of Police Station Udhampur laid a surprise naka near Jakhani National Highway in the wee hours, police said adding, "intercepted three trucks bearing Registration Nos: JK02X-1685, JK02AE-3015 and JK14B-2837.'"During search of vehicles police found 45 bovine animals loaded in these trucks which were on their way from Jammu towards Kashmir, police said further adding, " the above said accused were arrested on spot and the vehicles were seized. In this regard, a Case FIR No. 202/2014 U/S 188/RPC 3 PC ACT stands registered at Police Station Udhampur while further investigation of the case is on. |
