| LJP assails notice issued by SBI | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 4: JK state unit of Lok Jan Shakti Party (LJP) has assailed the advertisement notice issued by the State Bank of India (SBI) for recruitment of clerical staff for the bank from the Kashmir valley and Ladakh, blatantly ignoring the job seekers from Jammu region. According to press release, LJP said that the SBI action was discriminatory against Jammu region, since the advertisement notice has invited applications for the clerical post from the candidates belonging to ten districts of Kashmir valley and two districts of Ladakh. A meeting of the J&K Unit of LJP held here today under the chairmanship, of its president Sham lal Gupta has demanded immediate withdrawal of advertisement notice and issuing of new notice inviting applications for the jobs from all the three regions of the state. While it has hailed the positive development of move to rename POK as POJK, since most of the parts and territory under illegal occupation of Pakistan, as a result of its aggression in 1947-48 belongs to Jammu region and Ladakh. Only a small territory of Muzafarabad district from Kashmir valley is under PAK occupation. This move by the Centre is in keeping with the BJP and other NDA partners' commitment to preserve the identity of Jammu region as well as give it fair deal and do away with perpetual discriminations against Jammu. But the party has regretted that soon after taking over of the BJP led NDA govt. In the Centre the premier nationalised bank, which has major shares and deposers of Union govt. should act in a manner which is out and out discriminatory and a bolt from blue for the job seekers from Jammu region. |
