| J&K Ex-Services League hopeful of 'good days' ahead | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, June 5: Hoping for good days ahead, Maj Gen (Retd) Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, (Retd) President of the J&K Ex-Services League while chairing a rally of ex-servicemen of Udhampur at Chenani today all problems of ex servicemen will be taken up to the new Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their redressal. He said, "All the pending problems like One Rank One Pension (OROP) with the Centre Govt and the issues taken up with the State Govt for over Five years like Acquisition of land for the Sainik Colony, VAT Relief, Reservation at par with HP/Punjab including enrolment in Police and Belt Forces, Revival of Sainik Vanaspati Ex-Serviceman Co-operative, issue of Arms licences and Dogra Certificate etc will be taken up with the union government. He also hoped that the State Govt, after the recently concluded polls will be more responsive to long pending demands of ex servicemen. He also suggested the ex servicemen to opt to herbal farming for which the whole State particularly Jammu Region is ideally suited. He reminded them that there is Armed Forces Rehabilitation programme "Arms to Farms" and under this initiative J&K Ex-Services League in collaboration with Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) Jammu have decided to organize seminar of June 19-20 at IIIM Canal Road Jammu. He also extended open invitation to Capt Arjan Singh, Capt Juma Mohd, R/s Maj Ram Lal President of Chenani Tehsil to attend the Seminar at IIIM with five Ex-Servicemen for the welfare of members. |
