Police recovers stolen gold valuables, burglar held

Jammu/Doda, June 5: Doda police claimed to have arrested of one burglar and also recovered stolen gold jewelry and cash worth Rs, 1,30,000/- from his possession soon when he was trying to decamp from the spot. "The accused has been identified namely as Mehraj Din s/o Mohd Ramzan of Gurekra Gandoh,' police said. According to police, following complaint from one Sheraaz Ashraf s/o Mohd Ashraf Wani of Gurbal Iqbal Colony Bhaderwah at Police Station Bhaderwah that some unknown barged into his house and decamped with gold ornaments and some cash. Complainant also alleged that the burglars before escaping from the spot injured his daughter-in-law who tried to intercept accused. On hearing her hue and cry, Police patrolling party and some locals apprehended the above mentioned accused. "During his frisking the police recovered 43 Grams gold ornament and cash Rs. 1300/- (worth Rs, 1,30,000/-) from his possession, police said. A case FIR No. 71/2014 u/s 454/380/307 RPC stands registered at P/S Bhaderwah against accused while further investigations are in progress.
