| CITU asks Govt to consider demands Anganwadi workers, others | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 5: Hailing the decision of Omar led state government regarding long pending demands of the state government employees including enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60 years Sham Prasad Kesar senior leader of Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) has asked the government must also address the problems of the scheme workers i.e. Anganwadi workers/Helpers, ASHA workers and Mid-Day meal workers. He expressed anguish over the pitiable condition of these workers. He demanded minimum wages of Rs. 10000/= per month for all these workers, pension, other social security benefits and also the right to organize themselves as per 45th Indian Labour conference. He further demanded immediate implementation of the order issued by the Director NRHM , Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, GOI regarding enhancement of incentives including Rs. 1000/= per month for ASHA workers. He also demanded sanctioning of benefits to Anganwadi workers/Helpers on Haryana pattern ,65 years retirement age, Aam Admi Bhima Yojna, scholarship to their children, six months maternity leave, 20 days casual leave, summer/winter vacation and T A/ D A etc. |
