Jammu, June 5: A senior Congress leader and former District President of Youth Congress Kishtwar, Sheikh Nasir Hussain, joined Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in presence of party patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed at an impressive function here today.
Speaking on the occasion Mufti Mohammed Sayeed said that the party's doors were open for all.
He said that the party has grown as a credible voice of the people due to its vision and policies.
Sayeed said that the people of Chenab Valley, especially youth, have suffered due to the anti people policies of the present dispensation. In a short span of time, the previous PDP led Government, he said, had paid a special attention to the backward and hilly areas of erstwhile Doda district and had started massive development activities in the region, which were unfortunately stalled by the present regime.
He said that responsibility to steer the State out of morass lies on the youth. He welcomed the new Sheikh Nasir in the party. He said that joining of large number of people, especially youth, was an indication of PDP's growing popularity among younger generation of the State. |
