| VHP expresses solidarity with ex- sleuth Vinod Sawhney | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 5: VHP state President Leela Karan Sharma today expressed solidarity with an Ex Sleuth Vinod Sawhney R/o Bakshi Nagar, Jammu who is on hunger strike against demolition of his Kiosks at Hari Market. State president VHP, Mr Sharma said that the protestors had spent more than 15 years in Pakistani Jail & on his coming back to Jammu & Kashmir he was on the recommendation of Chief Secretary J&K Deputy Commissioner Jammu issued an order allotting him a Khokha at Hari Market for his rehabilitation but sadly enough the same was demolished without caring the orders of Chief Secretary & DC Jammu. "The Ex Sleuth Vinod Sawhney sat on hunger strike unto death on June 2, and was picked up during night hours & was shifted to GMC& Hospital Jammu following his deteriorating health condition. Criticizing state government, VHP leader said, "On one hand Government of Jammu & Kashmir is rehabilitating militants who have gone for arms training in Pakistan and have turned back with their families & children and on the other hand Ex Sleuth while working for the cause of nation got jailed in Pakistan for years together is being harassed. He asked the state government to provide immediate relief to Vinod Sawhney by providing him alternative Khokha for his livelihood. Hemraj Khajuria working President VHP, Dr Sham Lal Gupta General Secretary VHP, Dr V K Gupta & etc. were also present in the press conference. |
