Jammu, June 21: Expressing deep concern over the inordinate delay in releasing of 10% DA due from January last, President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) SubashShastri today appealed to the state Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to release the same in favour of State Govt. employees and pensioners in cash in the next cabinet meeting as the funds had already earmarked in the current year State Budget. "There is a need for early release of 10 per cent DA due from January last. We appeal to the state government to take immediate decision in this regard," Shastri said while addressing a well attended NMC workers' rally at village Domana in Jammu District, said and adding that the prices of all essential commodities are going up considerably and there was no justification for withholding this instalment of DA since long. DA was part of salary and routine financial matter and so there should be no hitch in release of pending instalment of DA as another instalment of DA shall become due for both Central/State governments employees and pensioners from July 1,2014., he added.Shastri pointed out that the further delay in release of pending instalment of DA would not put financial burden on the State Govt. exchequer but also increase the difficulties of salaried class. He said immediate of DA will be genuine measure to provide some financial relief to them. Demanding early release of pending wages of daily-rated workers in various departments of the state government, he said these wagers were facing serious financial hardships as their services had not been regularised for the last many years nor were they getting their wages regularly adding that early creations of separate heads of all concerned departments and budgetary allocations be made separately so that till their regularizations, the daily rated workers are able to get their monthly wages regularly and in time. |
