Protestors also blocked Jammu-Poonch highway for three hours today at Muradpur to register their resentment.
Agitated over the mysterious death of married woman, the family members and local of Muradpur placed body of the deceased on the road and protested while demanding registration of murder case against her husband Sanjay Kumar, his mother and other family members. They also alleged that Neha was killed by them (In-laws) as they were demanding money after the retirement of her (Neha's) father recently.
Ex-serpanch and grandfather of deceased, Ram Lal alleged that about three months ago Neha gave birth to a girl child and since then she was being tortured by in-law for giving birth to a girl child. On getting the information of protest, SK Chouhan, ASP Rajouri rushed to spot and pacified the protesters being led by Tara Chand a senior BJP leader. He assured the protesters about a fair and transparent investigation in the case and also assured that a case under appropriate sections will be registered against those who will be identified by the parents/family members of Neha after a written complaint is received by the police. Presently police is investigating the death of Neha under inquest proceedings i.e. under 174CrPC. Here it needs to mention that Neha's husband and other family members brought her to district hospital claiming that she got unconscious while performing domestic activities. Doctors at District Hospital after giving her preliminary treatment referred her to GMC hospital at Jammu but she died on way.
