| Lecturer accuses Minister of harassment, vengeance | | | Early Times Report
Bandipora, June 27: A lecturer in Bandipora district Friday alleged that Minister for Higher Education and MLA Sonawari Muhammad Akbar Lone has made his life hell by utilizing his influence to first transfer and then suspend him for none of his fault. Lecturer in Mathematics Manzoor Ahmed Shiekh resident of Chandergeer Hajin Sonawari in Bandipora district told that he was working as lecturer in Higher Secondary School Hajin, but on the basis of pure vengeance, the Minister Akbar Lone first transferred him and then through his close aide suspended him. "The personal feud between me and my wife who happens to be the daughter of close aide and political worker of Higher Education Minister resulted in divorce. The Minister soon after the divorce called me at his Tulsi Bagh government quarter and threatened me of dire consequence," Shiekh said a day after this incident he was transferred to Border District Kupwara. He further said that during the Parliament election, his mother died as a result he could not attend the classes at Higher Secondary School Kalaroos for a week. "On the pretext that I was absconding from the College, Lone used his influence and got me suspended," he said adding that it is a pure vengeance. No efforts to contact Higher Education Minister materialized as his mobile phone was switched off. Pertinently, a political science lecturer Dr Mehraj-u-Din earlier this month had alleged that he was transferred by Higher Education Minister from Degree College Sumbal for raising voice against illegal appointments in the College |
