As Amarnath yatra starts, Jammu leaders let down yatris
6/27/2014 11:33:53 PM

Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 27: The annual Amarnath Yatra has started and first batch of pilgrims from Jammu has headed towards Baltal from where pilgrims will head towards cave shrine and the so called leaders have let down yatris.
These leaders were not there at the start of the yatra.
Those yatris who left Jammu towards Baltal were jumping and raising slogans in excitement of becoming the members of elite first batch of pilgrims. But they were duped by the leaders of Jammu, especially the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) MLAs who won the elections in 2008 only because of the Amarnath land row.
These leaders were nowhere in the picture on the start of the yatra as the Tourism Minister Ghulam Ahmad Mir had reached Jammu from Srinagar to flag off the yatra. These so called Jammu leaders, who were exposed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah recently, were sleeping when the yatra was flagged off today early morning.
These leaders must put up papers before people of Jammu and apologies publicly that they have let down entire Jammu.
Meanwhile, the kind of scene state was witnessed since 2008 when land row issue was raised, every year some people try to play dirty politics.
Mostly these people do it for vote bank politics and also to stay in the limelight.
But people of the state must be aware of any such design which hinders the smooth functioning of the yatra.
Though the Director General of Police (DGP) K Rajendra recently said that there is no threat to yatra and police and para military forces are maintaining the security, but an eagle's eye is needed to keep watch on each and every activity during this period.
