Sahil hits 95 in KCSC's 70-run win

JAMMU, June 27: Brilliant 95 runs innings from Sahil Bhalwal today guided KC Sports Club (KCSC) to a big 70 runs win against Katcha Talab Cricket Club (KTCC) in the league round of the ongoing Chevrolet Cup Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at KC Public School ground, here.
Earlier, batting first, KCSC set a target of 170 runs for three wickets, which, in reply, KTCC could not chase and bowled out for 99 runs in 18.4 overs.
Sahil Bhalwal hit a superb knock of 95 runs while Ashwani Bhat remained unbeaten at 48. From KTCC, Mukesh, Arun and Sourav shared one wicket each.
Later, KTCC bundled out for 99 runs in 18.4 overs. Tony (16), Sourav (11) and Sudhir (11) were only batsmen to touch the double figure mark.
From KCSC, Arjun Choudhary emerged as most successful bowler with two for four runs in two overs while Ashwani Bhat and Sahil Lotra too bowled well shared two wickets each. Sahil Bhalwal declared man of the match.
Meanwhile, in another match of the day, New Challenger Club trounced Star XI, courtesy Parveen Singh, who did a fine job as bowler and batsman as well.
Earlier, Star XI could not perform well and completed their allotted overs for 88 runs losing eight wickets. Sanju and Nasir were main contributors to the total with 23 and 19 runs in their respective accounts. Robin added 12 runs.
From New Challenger, Parveen Singh bowled excellent spell taking away three wickets for 13 runs in four overs. Deepak Manhas and Ram Dayal bagged two and one wicket respectively.
In reply, New Challenger chased the target of 89 runs in 14.3 overs for five wickets. Parveen, who earlier took three wickets, contributed highest 34 runs while Hardeep Singh remained unbeaten at 14. Punit added 11 runs to the total.
Vivek bowled tight spell taking away three wickets for 16 runs in three overs. Robin bagged two wickets giving away 20 runs in four overs. For his all round performance, Parveen was named man of the match.
Today's matches officiated by the technical penal including Sadiq Hussain Malik, Rajinder Singh (umpires) and Sohail Yusuf (scorer).
