| Rs 1190 cr utilised under NHM in J&K, new schemes launched | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, June 27: An amount of Rs 1190 crore has been spent under National Health Mission (NHM) in Jammu and Kashmir, where a new scheme National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) for cities and towns has also been launched in six districts. Officials said here that the Functional Delivery Points have been increased from 131 in 2012-13 to 150 in 2013-14 in the state. Chief Secretary directed for focusing on upgradation of facilities. Till date an amount of Rs 1,190 crore has been spent on various components under NHM including Rs 337 crore spent during 2013-14.To promote institutional deliveries cash benefits are being provided to the mother beneficiaries in rural and urban areas under Jannai Suraksha Yojna (JSY). They said 1,43,129 beneficiaries received cash benefits during 2013-14. Jannani Shishu Suraksha Karyakaram (JSSK) scheme has also been fully implemented in the state with free entitlement for pregnant women during antenatal or postnatal care and infants upto 1 year.NUHM for cities and towns has also been launched in six districts of the state.An amount of Rs 10.35 crore for the year 2013-14 have already been released under the scheme so far. |
