| Noted artist Suman Gupta's works showcased at Helsinki | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 27: Well known contemporary artist from Jammu Suman Gupta's paintings have been included amongst the selected artists for a major group show at Helsinki in Finland. According to press statement, the prestigious international exhibition titled " Aavikon tuoksua kietaalla" (Deserts smell) shall open for three weeks at "Galleria Fogga" in Helsinki ,Finland on July 1 wherein Suman Gupta's (who is lone participant from India) works along with 12 other artists from Finland and other European countries will be displayed."Suman Gupta shall be displaying three of his recent works titled "The Night bath" Acrylic on canvas "Fish and the bird" and "Night halt" both dry brush on paper, statement added. According to statement Suman Gupta canvasses and dry brush become evocative renditions of the artist's preoccupations with the surreal realities of a lived idiom. "The canvas speaks in the language of stark surrealism, but it is the landscape with the figure in "Fish and the bird "that becomes the hallmark of his reflective handling of virtuoso technique in symbolism, it added.The statement said that commenced from Jul 1 the show shall close on July 20th. |
