Jammu, June 27: Jammu University Non-Gazetted Employees Union today held a meeting under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Trade Union (JKPDTU) headed by State President Suresh Sharma. Suresh Sharma and Vijay Kumar President NGEU while jointly condemned the dilatory attitude of the Vice Chancellor of Jammu University in not conceding various demands put before him. JU authorities are non- serious about the welfare of its employees in spite of best cooperation extended by the NGEU. It is disgusting to not that no action has been taken to concede our demands viz removal of Three Tier Career Advancement Scheme in the pay grade of Rs 2750, regularization of daily wagers, cases of which are referred to the Financial Advisor for concurrence and are pending since long. Sharma regretted that university authorities have failed to honour its agreement/commitment executed with the Union when the strike was suspended last year. This is total betrayal on the part of university authorities and will not be tolerated any more. NGEU is duly affiliated with JKPDTU and we will not sit as silent spectators to the injustice to the employee, Sharma warned. In case demands are not met with by Ist week of July, the union shall have no alternative but to resort to agitational methods and the consequences for the same shall be entirely of the university management. They appealed Vice Chancellor Jammu University to be more sensitive about the issues of the employees raised before him from time to time and issue necessary order in regularizing all daily wagers without wasting any further time. |
