JAMMU, July 4: Young students, Ayushi Kotwal and Aryaveer Singh brought laurels to the BSF School, here winning medals at the national and state level competitions held in the recent past. On their excelling in sports, Principal of the school felicitated these outstanding players in a function held at the school premises here today. Ayushi Kotwal, who recently awarded with Sher-i-Kashmir Award, won gold in the Divisional chess meet, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS). She also secured first place in the NHPC (open) FIDE Rating Chess Tournament and got sixth position in the 3rd National School Individual Chess Championship. Ayushi also participated in Asian Youth Chess Championship held in Tashkent in Uzbekistan. Meanwhile, Aryaveer Singh won gold in 46-48 kg category of under-17 age group in Inter-district Boxing Championship held under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports in Srinagar Another player from the school, Teja Singh secured a gold medal in Jammu District Fencing Championship, organised by J&K Fencing Assocaition. |
