| Train to Katra will not affect Jammu business: DTM | | | Sandeep Bhat JAMMU, July 4: The inauguration of much awaited Katra railway line will not affect business of Jammu and the city of temples will not become another Pathankot. This was disclosed by DTM Railway station Jammu R.N. Meena while talking to Early Times. He said that only 3 to 4 trains will go to Katra out of 30 trains daily plying on Delhi- Jammu route. So Katra will no way affect the business of Jammu. "The notion that Jammu will lose its elevance is wrong," he made clear. He added: "Those who say that Jammu will lose its importance and will become another Pathankot are totally unaware of the reality. The bulk of trains will stop at Jammu railway station and passengers will board other vehicles on way to Katra. Sunita Bhat, a teacher said that there is single track from Jammu to Katra via Udhampur and under no circumstances is it possible to run 30 trains from Katra daily. Further two engines are used to pull the Katra train because of the hilly terrain. Shazia Zaid, a housewife said the train to Katra is a welcome step and Jammu is getting a shot in its arm as the bulk of trains will culminate at Jammu station. " There is no need to panic. The business industry will boom and it will prosper more than ever," she said. |
