| Mother of 3 dies under mysterious circumstances, family alleges murder | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Kishtwar, July 4: In a shocking incident, 28 year old Neema Devi wife of Raj Kumar resident of Bhandara Kuntwara in Kishtwar was allegedly forced to commit suicide by her husband and In laws. The mother of three children Neema died under mysterious circumstances last night and her body was brought at Kishtwar Hospital Mortuary this morning. As per the details available with "Early Times", after complaining of pain; the husband and brother in law of the deceased l shifted her to nearby Thatri Hospital where she was reportedly declared as brought dead by the doctors. Soon after, both her Husband and brother in law tries shifted her to native village for last rites before the father and the brother of the victim learned about the death of Neema Devi under mysterious circumstances and brought the matter into the notice of police. As soon as police received the information, police party lead by Police Post in charge Sub Inspector Jai Pal Singh took the custody of the dead body and shifted it to District Hospital Kishtwar for autopsy. Police also detained the husband of the deceased for questioning. The dead body was later handed over to the family members for last rites after completion of all legal formalities. While talking to "Early Times", Krishan Lal, the brother of the deceased termed it as murder and alleged that her husband and brother in law regularly harassed her sister. He said that her husband regularly tortured her since long on one or other pretext and added that the matter was also brought into the notice of police few years ago. He said that the elder son of her sister also confirmed torture to which her sister was subjected to. He said that her husband had given her some poisonous stuff as a result of which she died. He said that her husband and others tried to perform the last rites of her deceased sister without intimating them as an attempt to cover the murder. He also demanded the immediate arrest of the accused and prayed for the justice. The father of the deceased and her sisters also demanded justice for the deceased and termed it as a murder. Meanwhile Kishtwar police has started its investigation under section 174 Cr.Pc. The preliminary investigation hinted towards the suicide and police is likely to book the accused husband under abetment to suicide charge. |
