Jammu, July 4:Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has hailed the inauguration of Katra-Udhampur rail link, and also expressed concern over the sense of fare among businessmen, hoteliers and transporters of Jammu due to said project. Addressing a press conference here today, PDP candidate from Jammu East Constituency, Bharat Choudary said that the people of country as well as in Katra are Jubilant for direct link between Katra with rest of the country but the business community in Jammu looking due to direct train auto unions, bus unions, taxi unions, dhaba Wala, tea stalls and specially coolies of Jammu railway station, business units running in Jammu East as it is the first stop service as 'crises' for them. Bharat Choudary said that footfall of more that 10 million Vaishno Devi pilgrims now directly go to Katra instead of staying in Jammu, which is loss of Hoteliers, Transporter and other allied sectors. Vikram Singh Dist Vice President PDP Jammu said that party welcomed the new train's service but authorities also develop world class infrastructure in Jammu to attract tourist as independent destination. Rafiq Malik demanded status of tourist city status for Jammu, speed work on Artificial Lake, Jammu Cable Care Project, restoration of Mubarak Mandi, opening of Suchet Ghar border for tourists on pattern of Wagha, Amritsar, publicity Buddhist site Ambran-Akhnoor and restoration of Mansar-Surisar Lake. Other who present in conference were Sachin Sharma, Chaman Angral, Bushan Gupta, Ved Gandotra, Sanjeev, Amit Gupta,Sudesh Gupta, Brij Mohan and Partap Singh. |
