| Industrial complex Bari Brahmana turns into garbage dump | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 4: Owing to non-seriousness of the civic body, the industrial complex Bari Brahmana has tunred into garbage dumping site. Addressing meeting of Bari Brahmana Industries Association its president of Annil Suri raised serious concern about the condition of Roads and Drains in the Industrial Complex. During the meeting it has been pointed by the members present that Government of India has provided Crores of Rupees for the up-gradation of Infra Structure facilities in the Industrial Complex out of which, major amount has been spent but the Civil Wing of the SIDCO has failed to utilize the funds in proper way. "The first pre-monsoon rain for 15 minutes on July 2 2014 turned the Industrial Complex in to garbage dump. Due to blockage of drains and culverts the rain water has entered in to the premises of numbers of of Units located near the KC Chowk due to which the Unit Holders suffered huge losses as it was impossible for the Staff and workers to enter the factory premises due to accumulation of Garbage outside the Units", Suri said, adding that the worst sufferers units were Star Industries, Ambika International and Dainik Jagran as they have to shut down their activities till the clearance of Garbage by SIDCO. He further said, "The main drain is also filled with Boulders but no steps has been taken for the removal of the same. The matter has been repeatedly brought into the knowledge of SIDCO Management but no effective steps have been taken so far." He requested Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and Industries Minister Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo to intervene in the matter and issue necessary orders for the restoration of work on war footing basis for the smooth working of Industrial Units in the Complex. |
