Jammu, July 4 : Activists of Youth Congress today held a protest outside Jammu University gate against the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his alleged false promises, he made during election campaign. They also burnt the effigy of Modi while demanding roll back of increased prices of petrol, diesel and LPG. In his message to Protesting Youth Congress, Shahnawaz Choudhary, State president of J&K Pradesh Youth Congress said that BJP has made a false promise to the people of the nation to give them "Achey Din" but in reality they are giving us "Expenssive days" by increasing the prices of essential commodities, one by one ranging from LPG, Petrol and diesel to the prices of essentials of daily use and railway fare. He also added that Youth Congress will not sit silent till hike in rail fare and other essential commodities are not rolled back. While addressing the Protestants and media, Jatinder Singh Chib, Assembly president, youth congress Gandhi Nagar said that "Increase in prices of petrol, diesel and gas (LPG) will result in the increase in price of all commodities. While warning the NDA of intensified agitation if the Centre continued to take such "anti-people decisions", Ajaz Choudhary, Assembly president youth Congress Mendhar said that "BJP has betrayed the people in the name of "Achey Din" and after elections their good days are not arriving, but the price hike is taking place on essentials one after the other". Nitin Bakshi, JU President of NSUI strongly advocated the need of roll back of the prices of essential commodities and said that BJP needs to formulate its strategies for the betterment of general masses and not the corporate tycoons. |
