| Locals protest against PDD, block Akhnoor-Jourian road | | | Early Times Report
Akhnoor, July 4: Young Panthers along with the people of Sungal-Morh held a protest and blocked the Akhnoor-Jourian road against the PDD Department for their failure to install transformer which was out of order since one week.Led by Gourav Bhatia, Tehsil President Young Panthers, the locals from Sungal Morh and adjoining areas gathered here today at Sungal Morh on the ever busy Akhnoor-Jourian road which was blocked by them for more than two hours and started shouting slogans against PDD and state government.
Addressing the protestors, Gourav Bhatia said that the people of Sungal Morh were running from Pillar to post for the installation of the said transformer but all in vain forcing them to adopt agitational path and come on the road to highlight their genuine demands. Ashok Takaiya Tehsil Vice-President Young Panthers said that it is very unfortunate that the Akhnoor Tehsil being represented by two bigwigs viz. Dy Chief Minister and a Cabinet Minister yet the people are facing miseries. Meanwhile concerned SDPO along with SHO Akhnoor rushed to the spot and pacified the protestors.
After their assurance the protestors dispersed and road was set open for vehicular movement.Others who were present on the occasion included Vishal Mahajan, Sunny Sharma, Sachin Bhagat, Rinku Sharma and others. |
