| Teaching fraternity to be relieved from election duties | | | Early Times Report
Reasi, July 4: Teaching officials of Education Department should be freed from election duty besides Block Level Observers (BLOs) in Reasi in the forth-coming Assembly Election 2014 so that the academic session may not suffer.
Since a large number of teachers from government schools have been engaged as BLO's to facilitate the election department by the district election officer Reasi resulting into studies of students in school affected.
Teaching fraternity has asked district administration to relieve them from election duties as it is affecting students and is also against the violation of the "Right to Education".
They alleged that administration Reasi seems very much interested in pleasing its superiors and politicians by trying its best to achieve the maximum polling percentage at any cost, but the least interested towards the education and the educational system in the district.
The District Election Officer Reasi/DC Reasi must follow the positive steps taken by the DC Leh and immediately should remove all the teachers from the duty of BLO ship in the District. The teaching fraternity also warned if their demand is not met they shall be forced to the matter to court of law in the shape of PIL for justice in favour of the innocent students. |
