Early Times Report Samba, July 4: Pawan Kumar of Samba, who had been strangled in Iraq from last 15 has returned to his home at Madwal village of Samba on Friday safely. He met his family early in the morning after boarding a bus from New Delhi to Samba. Pawan was dropped New Delhi on Thursday morning after efforts of some officials of management of Paltawa Engineering and Construction Company, which sent some Indian workers back. His return back in his family is no more than a god's blessings, when buds of smiles sprouts on the lips of family as well as concerned area of the victim on reaching his village his wife Rajni, an infant daughter into her arms along with number of villagers had warmly greeted him. After seeing his daughter for the first time was almost dreamlike, said Pawan. When he left for Iraq in 8 May, his wife was leading pregnancy period of seven months. Pawan said, "I couldn't believe it, actually. It was strange. Holding her (baby) for the first time was truly terrifying. Holding such a small child is a really miracle for me. It was almost too much to take in all at once. Pawan had earlier spent two years in Iraq. After getting married and spending a year in Samba, he had left for Iraq two months ago. Recounting his horrific life in Iraq, Pawan said, "The management did not have something favorable to us but provided us return tickets and send us back. Even as hopes of making a fast buck in Iraq have been dashed," said Pawan Kumar. |
