| Why is Govt scared of filling vacant posts? | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, July 9: The coalition government, it seems has no policy to fill around eighty-thousand posts that are vacant in various government and semi-government departments. The recruiting agencies say they are waiting government nod for going ahead with the recruitment process. According to details furnished by a local newspaper more than 37000 posts need to be filled. The number of gazetted posts that are awaiting appointment in direct category is 5778. The state government, it has been reliably learnt has failed to fill 13000 posts of class-IV posts in various departments. The reluctance of the government to fill the vacant posts especially in school education and higher education department has adversely affected the education system in Kashmir as contractual employees rule the roost everywhere. The numbers of posts vacant in school education are 2109. Around 1515 are vacant in gazetted cadre. The department has 12372 non-gazetted vacant posts. The Home department ahs more than 6000 vacent posts and rhe finance department ahs more than 2042 posts. Reports have also informed that the education department of the state has highest number of posts lying vacant with the figures suggesting 22894 vacancies followed by Home department that has 9019 posts. |
