| Lower Challa residents protest against scarcity of water | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, July 9: Expressing their concerns over the water crisis in this summer season, the residents of Lower Challa Panchayat of Tehsil Hiranagar today came to roads and blocked the Dyalachack-Challan link road at lower Challan to protest against PHE Department, concerned MLA and District administration here today. Chairman of Panchayat Khushi Ram said that they have been living without water facility of PHE and forced to bring the water from well and natural springs which are not situated at distance of more than 10 kilometer. "The concerned MLA is also never seemed serious and caring for we people he also left us on the mercy of Almighty, he added.
Protestors namely Suman Devi, Geeta and Sunita Rani also alleged that local MLA has failed to take the issues of locals including water problem and even the PHE Department and District administration have failed to come upto expectations of people.
They said the politicians are doling out only assurance to provide the water during the elections campaign but they become out of reach after polls.
Protestors warned the politicians and government ready to face the dire consequences if their water problem is not solved before the elections. |
